Walter “Bud” L. Spencer, 92, of rural Morrill, died Friday, November 17, 2017 on his farm. His funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, Nov 21, 2017 at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill with Military Rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the Mortuary. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Bud’s honor be made in care of the family. Bud was born September 22, 1925 to Norris B. & Beatrice (Long) Spencer at the Spencer farm. He attended Liberty School and graduated from there. Bud enlisted in the United States Army in 1944 serving until 1946 during WWII. After his service he returned home and farmed for the rest of his life.
He married Lois Arlene Barrett, of Morrill, February 25, 1949 in Sidney, NE. Bud was a long time farmer & feeder and was one of the oldest citizens in Sioux County at the time of his passing.
Survivors include his sister Dorothy J. (Bernard) Schuman; brother in law Richard Barrett and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; sister Francis Ross and brothers Raymond B. and Guy.
