Ann M. Gabel, 74, of Gering, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Heritage Estates in Gering. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2016 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery near Scottsbluff. There will be no visitation as the casket will be closed. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jolliffefuneralhome.com.

Ann was born January 5, 1942 in Scottsbluff to Clyde and Dorothy (Kulhanek) Harmon. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School with the class of 1960. Ann went on to attend Scottsbluff Junior College following graduation.

She married Richard C. Gabel on February 5, 1961 and to this union three children were born: Allen, Gerald and Fadra.

Ann’s employment throughout the years included A&W Drive-In, ABC Nursery and Lawrence Drug. She later worked at the Red Cross.

Ann enjoyed researching her family genealogy. She also was talented at various crafts and jewelry-making. Caring for her beautiful flowers was also a hobby Ann loved. She was well-known for decorating her house for every holiday

Survivors include her children, Allen (Julie) Gabel of Lincoln, Gerald Gabel of Gering and Fadra (Tim) Anders of Gering; grandchildren, Bailee and Kory Anders both of Gering; sister, Barbara (Melvin) Griggs of Scottsbluff; brothers-in-law, Alvin (Iva) Gabel of Torrington and Harry Gabel Jr. of Scottsbluff; sister-in-law, Katherine Swanson of Torrington; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
