Mauricio Lozoya, 89, of Scottsbluff, died Monday, November 07, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Jonathan Sorensen as Celebrant. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2pm until 7pm with a Rosary Service at 7pm at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Mauricio’s honor be made in care of the family to be designated at a later time. Mauricio was born Sept 22, 1927 in Scottsbluff to Serapio and Amalia (Puentez) Lozoya. He grew up in the Scottsbluff area. He worked and farmed in the Mitchell Valley area for most of his life to provide for his family. He worked a few campaigns at the Sugar Factory in Scottsbluff to supplement his income for his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff. His family was the most important thing in his life and he will be missed dearly by them all.
Mauricio is survived by siblings Maria Lozoya of Scottsbluff, Sophia Lozoya of Denver, CO, Martina (Jack) Lopez of Gering, Edwarda Martinez of Scottsbluff, Bonnie (Mel) Pool of Ontario, CA, and Frank Lozoya, Sr. of Scottsbluff; nephews Victor Lozoya, Emiliano Lopez, Cirilo Lopez, Carl Pool, Frank Lozoya, Jr., Salvador Valladarez and Leo Valladarez; nieces San Juan Lopez, Cathy Pool-Leathers and Tori Lopez; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
His parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 nieces, brothers in law John Martinez and Jerry Cullers preceded him in death.
