Obituary for Patricia Jean Kling (Connolly)

Patricia Jean Kling (Connolly)
Patricia Jean Kling, 77, of Scottsbluff died on Tuesday, Sept 20, 2016 at Mitchell Care Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Scottsbluff with Pastor Gerry Ussery officiating. Casual attire is respectfully requested. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place at Jolliffe Funeral Home in accordance to her wishes. The family requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Patricia’s honor be made in care of the Panhandle Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com.

Patricia was welcomed into this world on July 7, 1939, in Alliance, NE to Paul and Lena (Campbell) Connolly. Patricia received her early education in Lake Alice and Minatare. She was united in marriage to Kermit Kling, Sr. in Scottsbluff on March 30, 1956. They resided in Jacksonville, FL for two years before making their permanent residence in Scottsbluff.

Patricia was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and making quilts. One of her favorite past times was family time by going camping and fishing. She was a charter member of the Hunt’s Acres Women’s Club where she enjoyed helping others doing projects and being involved as much as she could for her community. Many of the children in the Hunt’s Acres community called her “Grandma Pat”. She was an amazingly loving woman who was loved by all those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her husband Kermit Kling, Sr. of Brush, CO; sons Royce Kling and Kermit Kling, Jr. both of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Mike (April) Kling and Jake (Rose) Kling all of Scottsbluff; great grandsons Ray Cerda of Kearney, NE and Kason Kling of Scottsbluff; sister Opal (Leroy) Knaub and brother Monte Connolly all of Scottsbluff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, sister Florence Fries, brother Robert Connolly, great niece Melissa McKnight, and brother in law Roger Kling preceded her in death.
