Duane Dutenhoeffer, 81, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, September 23rd, 2016 in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Sheryl Kester-Beyer officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.
Duane was born August 24, 1935 in Mina, South Dakota to William and Margaret Dutenhoeffer.
Duane married Thelma Olson on November 3, 1957 in Langford, South Dakota.
The family moved to Nebraska from South Dakota after Duane was transferred from his employer, Firestone. He then worked as a distribution maintenance technician for Kansas-Nebraska Gas for 17 years. Duane later worked for Sandberg Implement part-time as summer farming help. Duane was involved in farming his entire life.
Duane had a passion for traveling and he and Thelma wintered in Welsco, Texas for 23 years. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with other RV friends.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; daughters, Teresa (Donald) Schuetz of Sugarland, TX, Nancy (Patrick) McGhee of Temple, TX and Pamela Stringer of Colorado; grandchildren, Patrick McGhee, Trevor Schuetz, Tanner Schuetz, Ryle Stringer and Mackenzie Stringer; sisters, Hildegard Barger, Kathy Kriech, Carol Volk and Diane Ross; sisters-in-law, Amy Baule, Evelyn Olson, Mernie Olson, Elsie Reinhart, Opal Jordan and Bernice Dutenhoeffer; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brittanie McGhee; brothers, Wilbert, William, Arthur, Kenneth and Andrew; and sister, Marcella.
