Steven “Goldie” Coulter, 69, of Scottsbluff, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center. His celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Carpenter Center in Gering at 116 Terry Blvd. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorials in Steve’s honor can be made to the Panhandle Humane Society.
Steve was born in Omaha, NE on May 7, 1947, the son of J.W. and Grace (Jamison) Coulter. He lived in Beatrice until age 12, then moved to Mitchell, SD with his parents. He graduated from Mitchell Sr. High.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Christine Malde, on April 19, 1969 at Dillon, South Carolina. They lived in the Chicago area for 8 years before moving to Scottsbluff where they made their home. He worked at Lockwoods, BNSF Railroad, then the Red Barn Machine Shop until ill health forced an early retirement.
Steve enjoyed riding his Harley in his younger days, watching the Broncos, camping, long rides and being with his family and friends. He was never at a loss for words and could make anyone laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Chris; sister in law Becky (Mike) Sahlaney; niece Shannon Weltz and her fiancé Ben Gamble; nephew Heath (Anna) Weltz and their children Mason and Emily; his two dogs Elvis and Lexi and his cat Josie.
