Ardis Beth  Prickett
Ardis Beth Prickett, 77, of Henry, Nebraska passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home Her funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell, with Pastor Gary Flom officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. Friends who wish may call at the Mortuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Online condolences may be left at www.jones-mortuary.com

Ardis was born March 29, 1939 In Lyman, NE to Lawrence and Gladys (Phinney) Prickett. She attended grade school at Lyman, NE and Torrington, WY. After graduation from Lyman High School in 1958, she attended Scottsbluff Junior College and got her Bachelor’s Degree from Chadron State College.

Ardis’s passion was teaching. Some of the places she taught were Bushnell, Curtis, Chambers and Lake Minatare. The school that she felt was most rewarding to teach at was Red Cloud, SD, where she taught for 13 years. After a long and rewarding career teaching, she moved back to Henry and began helping with the GED program at WNCC.

Ardis enjoyed keeping up with whatever the nephews and niece and grand nephews and nieces were doing, attending the activities of those close by. She kept up with the politics of the day and loved to read, go shopping with friends in Cheyenne and eating out was always a great pleasure.

Although Ardis had many health problems through the years, she never complained or asked “why me”. She took it all in stride.

She is survived by three sisters; Audrey Atkins, Ellen (Marvin) Ellwanger and Judy (Jake) Rein. She was the very special aunt to Scott Atkins, Rusty Atkins, Randy Atkins, Mark Ellwanger, David Ellwanger, Stephen Ellwanger, Timothy Ellwanger, Edward Rein and Sharon (Rein) Rogers.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, an infant sister and brother-in-law Richard Atkins.
