Larry J. Nuss, 78, of Bayard died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Faith United Church of Christ in Bayard with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Bayard City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made to Faith United Church of Christ.
Larry was born May 10, 1938 in Bayard to Carl A. and Lena (Leever) Nuss. He graduated from Bayard High School in 1957.
Larry married Darlene M. Roach on February 26, 1960. Five children were born to this union: Donna, Judy, Carol, Larry and Lisa.
The family lived in different areas throughout the Panhandle while the children were growing. Larry held various jobs including working for Union Pacific, a gas company, Coca Cola and Burlington Northern. He also worked as a milkman for Bluffs Dairy and Meadow Gold before owning and operating his own business, Larry’s Dairy.
Larry was an avid NASCAR fan. He and his son traveled to many races together. He also enjoyed fishing, and collecting items such as teddy bears and Budweiser steins.
Survivors include his children, Donna (John) Otero of Guernsey, WY, Judy Lif of Torrington, Carol (Chuck) Zabinski of Bayard, Larry Nuss of Bayard and Lisa Nuss of Torrington; grandchildren, Kendra Teigen of Yuma, AZ, Andrew Nuss of Torrington, Heidi (Charlie) Antoine of Torrington, Kaylynn Nuss of Goodland, KS, Cameron (Rachel) Nuss of Cheyenne, Jordan Nuss of Atwood, KS, HeLena McGaugh of Torrington and Emily McGaugh of Torrington; great grandchildren, Korissa Miller of Alliance, Hailey, Lucas, Madison and Logan Antoine of Torrington, Gerrit Nuss of Torrington and Orion Nuss of Torrington; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Larry was preceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Lena; special friend, Georgia Thompson; and ex-wife, Darlene Nuss.
