Wanda C. Hale, 89, of Mitchell, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with Pastor Bill Marietta officiating. Inurnment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill. Wanda was born April 23, 1928 in Scottsbluff to Carl and Maude (Stockholm) Gompert. She graduated from Liberty High School north of Morrill. Wanda went back to school in her early 30’s and began her career as a beautician. She operated her own beauty shop in Mitchell until recently. She was a member of the Federated Church in Mitchell where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles.
Wanda is survived by her four children, Richard and Jennie Emerson, Sandy Brehse, Jerry and Carleen Emerson and Tom and Loretta Emerson; ten Grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and longtime companion, Don Gibson.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Richard Emerson, Harold Duncan and Wayne Hale; and brother, Stanley Gompert.
